Purchased the L340 after my Nikon Coolpix L120 stopped working because of a small "fall". It never gave me any issues and I always liked the way it worked and handled. So when I was looking for a new one I went right back to Nikon. After looking at several models I set a price range and ended up going with the L340. So far it does everything I liked in my L120 and it does it better. The picture quality is great and the zoom, while not the best on the market at this time, it is pretty damn good. The one thing I did not like about my L120 is that it ate batteries. With the L340, after several outings and a couple hundred pictures I am still on the first set of batteries. Which still show as relatively full. I am very happy with this camera so far. Of course if you spend more you can get better but I think this model is a good camera for the money.

This camera takes incredibly sharp pictures, is easy to use and is lightweight. Great for a beginning camera user.

I got this because I was sick of lugging my DSLR around. The first test for this camera was our trip to Europe this summer. I couldnt be happier with how this little but powerful camera performed. It was also nice to be able to fit it into my purse and not have to worry about getting it in and out of a cumbersome cover or camera bag. Thanks to my DSLR I have some pretty high standards. This was perfect for me.

I tested the Nikon Coolpix L340, this is an excellent 20 mega pixel camera, with a very good 28x Zoom, and really very little color distortion around the edges, focus speed fairly quickly although the macro focus can sometimes be over 5 seconds, Its very user friendly compared to the previous and cheaper L330 http://amzn.to/20IqO79 PRO: The lens has an OIS The sensor takes great low light photos and videos The autofocus speed (but macro autofocus is slow) The ISO 80 to 400 produces very usable photos Uses standard SD memory cards, I recommend a Class 10 from transcend http://amzn.to/1GU60mS CONS: 28x optical zoom produces moderate levels of chromatic aberration around the edges (when at 28x). HD 1280x720 (720p) resolution, 1080p expected when most current smatphones are able to. Very basic controls, (but might be just enough for most) Above ISO 400 the noise increased in the images, they look sharper but with noticeably noise. This camera uses 4 AA batteries, I particularly use the second gen Eneloop batteries from Panasonic, Out of a full charge I can get over 300 shots, the third gen is out I’m sure you might get more pictures out of them http://amzn.to/1M3TJLl You cant go wrong with this camera, for the price you get a 20MP camera, 28X zoom and the convenience of using standard batteries and memories

OK, Im a cranky old man and it took me days to decide on this camera. I searched and read gobs of stuff and pushed the button on this one. Now, this camera comes with an instruction manual or there is one online for free. USB cord and batteries. The manual has all this complicated mumbo-jumbo but I relied on FULL AUTO for my shooting. I set it on auto and went to work taking pics of stuff I needed to document. YOU NEED TO READ THE MANUAL regarding zoom usage and how to let it focus before completely depressing the fire button. I dont see any reason for me to mess with the other controls but I can if I wanna play around. I dont so that takes care of that. The pictures are clear, natural and I couldnt ask for an easier camera to use that takes decent pics. I use the 32 Gig card and the camera comes with a USB cable but it is way too short. Get a 5ft cable from Amazon. It takes 4-AA batteries and Im not going to get caught-up in proprietary scams. Also, it comes with 4 Chinese Duracells that are working now but I have extras handy with no Chinese lingo. The thing looks like its made good and will suit me just fine for what simple pics I need. The zoom is super and is clear if you let it focus. When the light turns green fire. Im only gonna tell you 2 more times. Take about 30 minutes and read the manual and familiarize yourself with the camera controls and how to take great shots. If you have to monkey-around with the controls for each shot you arent taking advantage of the auto stuff. Its made in China and probably wont last long but the price seems fair compared to all the others I examined. I have not made videos so I cant speak to that. Read the manual and youll be on your way to simple picture taking. I plug the camera into my computer and the pics are sucked-off onto Windows 10 software and usually defaults to Paint. I can modify the pics if I like. I did not download the Nikon software since there are complaints about removing the stuff if you want to. Hard to uninstall. Its as cheap as I could go and get a cool looking camera that will do the job for me with a minimal learning curve. Sure, youll need to play around a little but not much. I got right onto the zoom and basic auto settings. READ THE MANUAL!

Since the beginning of this year, Ive been wanting to try photography. As usual, I spent around 2 weeks trying to decide which camera I should buy. This camera came up with a great resolution and low price. Absolutely love it, because it is so simply, and it gives you the feel of a dslr because of the size and shape. The pros in this product were: -Low Price -Great resolution (20.2 megapixels) - Compact enough to travel around with it -A magnificent zoom (28x) - The many pre-established scenarios were they adjust the ISO and the white balance. The only con I could come up was that you cant manually adjust the shutter speed of the camera, only the ISO and White balance, but I still believe it is a bang for your buck. Would recommend it to anybody who wants to start photography and doesnt want to spend $300+ on a DSLR. I added a picture I took when I went to a beach some time ago.

This is a great camera! I love the zoom capability also, I can see things much further away (and clearer) with this camera than I could with the older Nikon Cool pix Point and Shoot camera that I had for about 2 years before I upgraded to this one. Oh, and I forgot to mention that I can take some really awesome light trail pictures, simply by adjusting the ISO on the camera to either 80 or 100.

Love Love Love!! I like taking pics of nature so this was perfect. The zoom is awesome and the quality is amazing! For $138 it takes better pics than my $300 Cannon... Some of my pics are below to give you an idea.

Husband loves it. Not a professional by any means , he just wanted something to take nicer pictures with than our phone and this camera takes really nice picture and was easy to use right out of the box
